Let It Go, Part 1

Democrats embraced an anthem of "no right, no wrong, no rules for me." Will they repent and change? And if they do, can America trust that the repentance is real?

Brianna Wu is a leftist. Transwoman? Check. Democrat? Check. Progressive election consultant? Check. But s/he also agrees with some very sensible criticisms of leftists, and I think that is a fundamental problem for America. Why?

First, here’s a non-exhaustive list of criticisms made (or agreed to) by Wu during her recent appearance on Triggernometry:

• Democrats learned nothing from 2016

• Joe Biden was senile in 2020

• Democrats say Black and Latino men are White Supremacists, Americans are racist sexist transphobes, and Republicans want a Fascist in the White House

• Progressives are completely inauthentic and Progressivism is a purity cult

• Identity politics is bullshit

• The solution to illegal immigration is blindingly obvious but Democrats can’t see it

• It’s crazy to allow men into women’s locker rooms

• The way Democrats talk about children is beyond reckless, and “fucking with people’s children” is not only crazy and immoral but also political suicide

• Democrats will learn nothing from 2024

After all these points are made in various ways during the conversation, Triggernometry co-host Konstantin Kisin says, “If Democrats don’t sort this out, you’re going to be out of power for 20 years.”

Sort this out? Sort WHAT out?

Wu goes on to explain that Democrats — or as she says, “we” — fully expected to win in 2024. “We built one of the best get-out-the vote operations I have ever seen … the problem was, our messaging leading up to that was so shitty.”

So … sort out the messaging? Democrats can win in 2028 if they rephrase their insane contention that Black men who voted Trump are literal White Supremacists?

Or, as Wu wrote in the September 9, 2024, Boston Globe, is the problem deeper? “Leftists have no mechanism to hit the brakes on bad ideas so they keep drifting leftward” — and even worse, “we are at the terminal stage of the worst ideas.”

In 2024, after 20 years of Progressives driving America without brakes, how could anyone trust the oxymoronic “repentance” of unrepentant leftists? The problem is two-fold.

First, Americans as a whole are a forgiving people. We have a deeply-rooted tradition of turning the other cheek and we believe in “the peaceful transition of power.” Most of us just want the government to leave us alone to pursue our freedoms as individuals. As Wu admits, Americans don’t care if adults choose to “medically transition” their gender, but we care a whole lot when adults make children the target of their gender ideology.

And second, American leftists believe in a deeply un-American ideology: the supremacy of collective rights and a power structure that says compelling speech and forcing behavior is freedom. This ideology divides us into “communities” that Progressives define and control. Your community has the right to force you to obey, and your obedience to the community will make you free.

There can be no forgiveness for leftists without a legitimate leftist apology. And no, it can’t be the crap “non-apology apology” so prevalent among our elite political class.

How about we start with a LEGITIMATE APOLOGY from Kamala Harris for inciting Black Lives Matter riots, followed by demonstrated REPENTANCE by the Democratic Party for relentlessly pursuing the worst ideas in American history: trying to make America a racist DEI purity cult, corrupting the DOJ, FBI and CIA, and fucking with parents and their children.

Let it go, Democrats. Let it go.
