The British are Coming ... Again
Government absolutists believe our most fundamental rights are a “threat to democracy," and their goal is to burn down the Republic.
In 1814, British soldiers were ordered to torch the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. At the time, the building housed the Library of Congress, the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. The White House was also put to the torch, but most private buildings in the city were spared. For the second time in 30 years, America was at war with King George III.
Two hundred and ten years later, the “United Kingdom” is at war with its own people, and their government’s contempt for the most basic of all democratic rights is contagious. Ireland is “restricting freedom” in the name of “the common good,” and Scotland’s new “hate crime” law resulted in 7,000 criminal complaints in just the first week. Ironically, thousands of those complaints were lodged against First Minister Humza Yousaf, the man who signed the new law.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling says she is willing to be arrested for the criminal act of “an accurate description of biological sex,” and if the Scots continue at the current pace, more than 1 million reported “hate crimes” could dwarf the 300,000 total crimes reported in the last year. Scottish police said they had investigated Rowling’s speech and decided no arrest was warranted.
Meanwhile, across the pond in Canada — still part of the “United Kingdom” — the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal says it is a human rights violation to utter wrong pronouns in the workplace. The Ontario Court of Appeal says professionals can have their licenses revoked if they refuse to attend mandatory re-education camps. At the same time, employers must hire criminals unless they can prove that criminal behavior poses a threat to a “safe” workplace.
All of which begs the question: if failing to use government-mandated words is a crime, do UK employers have to hire criminals guilty of misgendering unless they are proven threats to safe workplaces?
For the answer to that question, consult your nearest politician.
South of the 49th parallel — the longest undefended border in the world — America has its own monarchical absolutists: politicians who shit great piles of absurd laws, jOuRnAlisTs who faithfully spread the manure, teachers who grow children in gardens of intellectual human waste, and scientists who tell us to follow their contaminated “science” or the world will burn.
Like their UK counterparts, a good number of American professionals claim our most fundamental rights are a “threat to democracy” — and “saving democracy” requires the destruction of liberal democratic values.
Take Neil deGrasse Tyson for example, since he is a typical example of the species.
“Why do you care?” the celebrated scientist asks us. “What business is it of yours to require that I fulfill your inability to think of gender on a spectrum?”
To appreciate the full absolutist flavor of his gaslighting tirade, you should watch the full short clip and reflect on the full context of his words: your failure to speak Tyson-approved words and think Tyson-approved thoughts means you are guilty of requiring Tyson to accommodate your wrong thoughts.
As noted above, three countries of the “United Kingdom” have already written Tyson’s ideas into law and begun the prosecutions.
But scientists like Tyson are not the only self-righteous gaslighters. Many journalists (who make their living from words) say the right to free speech is not absolute and write headlines like “Unfettered Free Speech Is A Threat To Democracy.”
It is not a coincidence that the headline comes from NPR’s “Fresh Air” — or that NPR insists “America faces an information crisis” — because a career NPR journalist recently gave us the inside scoop on how NPR “lost America’s trust.”
Such a dramatic failure “wouldn’t be a problem for an openly polemical news outlet serving a niche audience,” wrote 25-year NPR journalist Uri Berliner. “But for NPR, which purports to consider all things, it’s devastating both for its journalism and its business model.”
Unfortunately, when confronted with the truth, the reaction of most journalists is more gaslighting. Uri Berliner provides one example, but one is enough. When the New York Post broke the story that Hunter Biden’s laptop contained details about crooked Biden family business dealings, NPR’s managing editor for news said this: “We don’t want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don’t want to waste the listeners’ and readers’ time on stories that are just pure distractions.”
Thus, in 2022, for the first time in Gallup’s history, the number of Americans with “no trust at all” in the media exceeded those with a “great deal/fair amount” of trust.
The UK doesn’t have a 1st Amendment, and America’s problems don’t end with the 1st Amendment. Your 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms is under perpetual attack even though some of our most cherished cities are in a crime-driven “doom loop.” Congress just voted for a law that allows the government to violate your 4th Amendment right to freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. Judges in New York are violating Donald Trump’s 8th Amendment right to be free from excessive fines, and reasonable people should assume other judges will follow the precedent.
Some cities overwhelmed by the illegal immigrant crisis have encouraged residents to quarter migrants in their private homes, while others allow criminal migrants to squat in homes they don’t own.
Given the vast, ongoing, and intentional nature of the constitutional violations, can anyone guarantee me that our federal government won’t become tyrannical? Or that some judge somewhere won’t eventually rule — against the spirit of the 3rd Amendment — that the government can quarter illegal migrants in your private home?
And now we come to January 6, the Great Insurrection, the metaphorical Burning of the Capitol. From day one, the narrative has been that President Trump failed to stop the insurrectionists from trying to overthrow the government.
Leaving aside that even President Biden admitted “you need an F-16” if you want to “work against the government,” we already knew that Trump had authorized the deployment of the National Guard to the Capitol.
But now we know that troops were on buses that day, in full tactical gear, waiting for the go-ahead from military commanders.
“Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund and DC National Guard leader Maj. Gen. Walker said that Army Lt. Gen. Walter Piatt (ret.), who was Army Staff Director at the time of the riot, delayed or ignored Sund’s request for National Guard support,” reported the Daily Mail. “They accused Piatt of saying: ‘I don’t like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background.’”
In addition to that, “former acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller claims the January 6 committee threatened to ‘make his life hell’ if he kept claiming his former boss authorized National Guard deployment during the Capitol riot.”
A Congressional hearing on the matter is scheduled for April 17.
So we have yet more evidence that Deep State actors including January 6 Committee Chairman Benny Thompson (D) and Vice Chair Liz Cheney (R) organized a platoon of straw men and ignited them into a “2021 DC Reichstag Fire” to claim that Republicans had attempted a violent coup.
The British are coming again, only this time they’re dressed up as Americans.
Postscript
These days, it is fashionable on both sides of the free speech debate to quote George Orwell’s 1984, but only one side is inventing new words, eliminating undesirable words, and stripping all words of their unorthodox meanings in the service of a totalitarian regime. Guess which side that is.
“The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of Ingsoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible. It was intended that when Newspeak had been adopted once and for all and Oldspeak forgotten, a heretical thought — that is, a thought diverging from the principles of Ingsoc — should be literally unthinkable, at least so far as thought is dependent on words. Its vocabulary was so constructed as to give exact and often very subtle expression to every meaning that a Party member could properly wish to express, while excluding all other meanings and also the possibility of arriving at them by indirect methods. This was done partly by the invention of new words, but chiefly by eliminating undesirable words and by stripping such words as remained of unorthodox meanings, and so far as possible of all secondary meanings whatever. To give a single example. The word FREE still existed in Newspeak, but it could only be used in such statements as ‘This dog is free from lice’ or ‘This field is free from weeds.’ It could not be used in its old sense of ‘politically free’ or 'intellectually free' since political and intellectual freedom no longer existed even as concepts, and were therefore of necessity nameless. Quite apart from the suppression of definitely heretical words, reduction of vocabulary was regarded as an end in itself, and no word that could be dispensed with was allowed to survive. Newspeak was designed not to extend but to DIMINISH the range of thought, and this purpose was indirectly assisted by cutting the choice of words down to a minimum.”

In the words of "not so famous" philosophizers, The Tramps...Burn Baby Burn.
In reality, this madness will never end until one side is eradicated from the debate, and I doubt good men will be able to stand in the gap and hold the line long enough to eradicate the evil that so easily preys on the current state of our dysfunctional and disillusioned society.
...but still I pray and still I will stand.
As an aside, language is a powerful tool. And he that controls it, controls the preferred narrative and implementation of the preferred agenda. We see it in the American Progressive movement of the past century, and at an accelerated pace in the past decade. From the hijacking of the term liberal, to the co-opting of terms such as global warming, global cooling, & climate change. And even further to the creation of entirely new pseudosciences in gender and other such nonsense. The left, at the direction of their prophets such as Saul Alinsky, have made it an imperative to control the meaning of words and the hijacking of language to assert and usurp control over society. ...and they have, to a very large degree, succeeded, as our society is marching itself off a cliff like lemmings into the ocean.
Racing like lemmings to the brink of holocaust
With scant concern for cost
We fall before the god of pleasure
Jeopardizing without measure
The rarest gem of everlasting life
We have a plethora of choices and options before us. And one of them is "not allowing" the left to control ANY narrative or agenda through the manipulation of words and language in general. Do not give them the satisfaction. Words have meanings, and we must set them in cement.
