Charter 24: Fight, Get Arrested, Win
The people who fundamentally transformed America are trying to ban Republicans from the ballot. As noted by Jonathan Turley, “Dozens of Democratic members have already called for the disqualification of up to 126 Republican colleagues. … [which] could place this country on a slippery slope to political chaos if not clearly and finally rejected by the Supreme Court.”
I believe Turley (and too many other “influencers”) are a day late and a dollar short. But it doesn’t matter if the Democrats fail this time. And it doesn’t even matter if the Supreme Court rules the effort unconstitutional. We can’t change the fact that the very definition of “America” has been forever altered.
We also cannot change the fact that “our democracy” now stands for literal fascism: that a powerful central government must “partner” with powerful corporations to censor speech and rebuild America with “unity, strength, and justice.”
There is much we cannot do, and I have spent far too many years complaining about that and trying to imagine what we can do about it. And what we can do is what we as conservatives have already begun to do under the parallel economy: educate successive generations of Americans that the radical left is the party of the new fascists, and that demanding our individual rights is the only way to defeat the new totalitarians.
To that end, I’ve launched Charter 24. See the initial announcement, and the new website. I’m still working on the resolution and what form it might take in The Age of the Limited Attention Span.
